Betsson opens Bogota office to boost LatAm growth drive

Betsson AB has recently announced that it has fully launched its operations centre in Bogota Colombia, to support its ongoing expansion across the South American markets.

The Stockholm-listen gambling giant has now completed one of its 2022 corporate objectives by launching this new operations centre to support its many existing partnerships and brands in markets, such as Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina and Chili.

Speaking at the launch, Group CEO Jesper Svenson said: “Latin America is a special region for us, so I am especially happy about the opening of this operations centre in Bogota.

“I’m confident that, thanks to the talent present in the company, we will continue our progressive growth in the region and contribute to the development of an industry based on responsible entertainment.”

To date, Betsson holds the highest LatAm online gambling market presence, having actively invested in the South American market since 2018. This forms part of its Back-onTrack transformation programme.

The regional growth has boosted the company’s earnings thanks to effective M&As and investments in Suaposta racebooks, Inkabet Peru and ColBet Colombia. All of these sites have been launched to support online gambling and sports betting in the region.

The company has also ongoing partnerships with Colo Colo FC in Chile and Big Bola Casinos in Mexico. Betsson is the official sponsor of the professional football league in person and of the Women’s and Men’s CONMEBOL Copa America.

Thanks to this regional success, Betsson has achieved an ‘organic growth of 35% thanks to the Latin American, Central and Eastern European and Central Asian markets.

Evert Montero Cardenas, President of the Colombian trade association Fecoljuegos has welcomed the new Betsson operation in Bogota.

He commented, “We feel pleased with the contribution of Betsson in Colombia, and we consider that the opening of its operations centre in the national territory shows once again its support to the gaming industry which, through Fecoljuegos, works to have a more competitive sector and which provides the right conditions for its further development

“We applaud their proposal to promote actions of fair play, mutual support, teamwork, and responsibility, which adds value to the activity of Betsson Group in the country.”
