Cash in Transit Slot Bonus Features
Rather than doubling down on the ever-increasing stakes of the Money Train series, Relax Gaming has opted for a more grounded setting for Cash in Transit. This time around, you’re transported to not so sunny London, aiding a group of criminals in getting away with their newly acquired score. Although it’s not as thoroughly exciting as some of the previous entries, Relax Gaming has still done a great job of setting the tone and scene for the heist to come.
This time around, the grid is slapped onto the back of a large getaway van with five reels and four rows. There are, strictly speaking, no paylines at all, since all the regular base game mechanics have been removed to speed up your progression into the respins bonus. So, all you get landing on the grid are blank spaces or bonus symbols. This change can serve as a double-edged sword:
- On one hand, it means you have a much shorter wait to access the bonus rounds.
- But then again, without any base game symbols or mechanics, these rounds can get boring a lot quicker, especially if the required bonus symbols prove to be elusive.
You can also use some helpful functions like:
- Turbo spins, which speed up the pace of each round
- An autoplay feature, which can spin up to 100 consecutive spins automatically.
Both of these functions are banned in the UK.
So, that covers all of the basics in Cash in Transit. It’s not much, but the action really shifts into gear once you reach the respins bonus.
Wilds
With no regular pay symbols on the grid, there is effectively no need for any wild symbols at all in the game. You won’t be trying to put together any winning combinations, and so there are no wild symbols present in the game. But, as you’ll see below, that action is transferred to the several reel modifiers that can be acquired during the respins phase.
Scatter Symbol
Scatter or bonus symbols are found during the base game spins, or rather, they are the only symbols you get during the base game rounds. These bonus symbols can lead you to respins bonuses, and you’ll need to land a minimum of three symbols to access respins.
Other than that, the bonus symbols do not have a payout value and aren’t present in the respins bonus.
Respins
This is where the crux of the game lies. Upon landing the required bonus symbols, you’re transferred to the respins bonus and given an initial three respins. During these rounds, you can land reel modifier symbols or blanks. Whenever you land a reel modifier symbol, your respins counter resets back to three. There are 13 different reel modifiers available, and these include the following:
- Cash Bag – The basic symbol in respins, this can award wins worth anywhere between one to 10 coins.
- Bag Man – Collects all the coin values in view on the grid and adds them to its own value.
- Money Man – Picks anywhere between three to five symbols on the grid and adds their values to its own, then transfers that added values back into the selected symbols.
- Lock Smith – Picks three to eight symbols on the grid and adds its value to them. It can target the same symbol more than once.
- Detective – Picks a random symbol on the grid and doubles its value between two to six times.
- Constable – Has a coin value between five to 100 and adds this value between three to 10 times to a random symbol.
- Gov’Nor – Respawns from two to seven non-persistent symbols which can include the Bag Man, Money Man, Lock Smith, Detective or Constable. It can target the same symbol more than once.
- Pawn Broker – Gathers all of the cash bags on the grid and removes them from the reels. This can include other Pawn Broker symbols although it cannot target feature symbols, but in doing so it frees up space on the reels.
- Persistent Bag Man – Collects all coin values in view and adds them to its own. This is repeated on every consecutive spin, but the symbol cannot collect its own value in these subsequent spins.
- Persistent Lock Smith – Doubles the value of three to eight symbols at the end of the round and on all consecutive round. It can once again target the same symbol several times over in the same spin.
- Persistent Money Man – Picks three to five symbols at the end of each spin and adds their values to its own, before adding that combined value back to the selected symbols.
- Persistent Gov’Nor – Revives up to seven used non-persistent special symbols which can include the Bag Man, Money Man, Locksmith, Detective or Constable. The same symbol can be targeted more than once in the same spin.
- Persistent Attack Dog – Transforms into a different feature symbol after every spin, including the Bag Man, Money Man, Lock Smith, Detective and Constable.
Given that the game is mostly aimed at a UK audience, Cash in Transit has no bonus buy option. It’s not a huge loss for players in other regions either, as the base game spins are designed to only land scatter symbols and speed up your chances of reaching the bonus rounds.
RTP & Volatility of Cash in Transit Slot
Although this is technically a spin-off of sorts, Cash in Transit follows the same trajectory of all Relax Gaming’s Money Train series with a high level of volatility. This effectively means that you will only get big wins landing every now and again, although they have a much higher value than what you might get from lower volatility video slots. RTP will, of course, make a big difference here too, and you’ll find different versions of the game offering 96.10%, 94% and 86%. As always, I suggest you stick to the highest value, which in this case offers 96.10% for the best experience possible.
It’s also worth pointing out that while the game claims to offer a maximum win of 100,000, this refers to the coins in the game and not a multiplier of your bet. When doing the math, it turns out that Cash in Transit’s maximum win is actually 10,000x your stake. While it’s nowhere near the coin value on offer, it can still lead to some huge wins.
Cash in Transit Slot on Mobile
I tested out Cash in Transit on mobile too, to get a better idea of how the game performs on the go. I fired it up on my Android phone using a Chrome browser and was pleased to see that I could instantly switch between landscape and portrait game modes. I preferred the portrait mode as it fits better on handheld devices and is more suited to smaller screens and touchscreen controls.
Outside of a few changes to the interface, the game is identical to what you would get on a desktop, with all the same graphics, features and win potential. You can also enjoy Cash in Transit on iOS devices and run it on mobile browsers like Safari, Firefox and Opera.
-
10,000x maximum win cap.
-
Fun theme with high-quality graphics and animations.
-
A wealth of reel modifiers that can boost your wins and add fun twists to the game.
-
A fast paced base game that will speed up your progress to the respins bonus.
-
A lack of new or innovative features to explore.
